Our Community

Pilger Nebraska is a resilient community and has much to offer visitors and people who live there.

Pilger’s municipal pool which opened Memorial Day 2008, replaced our old pool which had been in operation since 1956.  The pool is open from Memorial Day to mid-August – closes the night before Wisner-Pilger School classes begin.  Public swimming lessons are held the first two full weeks in July.  Private swimming lessons can be scheduled through the swimming pool manager.  Regular pool hours are 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  Special hours occur during Pilger Days

Pilger Park is located next to Highway 15.  The Park houses a grassed infield baseball field with grand stand & concession stand, shaded picnic tables, restrooms, playground equipment, and a four pad camper unit.

The Pilger Baseball Field sits adjacent to the park. The perfect place to enjoy a game of ball during your family reunion in the park.

The Pilger Campground offers 5 graveled sites with water/electricity hook-ups. Campers have use of pool restrooms and showers when pool is in season and there is a sewer dump station on site.

The Pilger Public Library serves the Village of Pilger and the surrounding area with over 7,000 books and almost 1000 movies along with many magazines to check out.  Library also provides access to E-books and E-Audiobooks through Nebraska Overdrive.  Computers, printing, faxing, lamination, and shredding services are available.  There are also many games and puzzles to check out or use in the library.  The library has several comfy corners to curl up with a book or have coffee with a friend.  The Novel Cup is a free will coffee bar.

The current Pilger Public Library was built in 1991 and was the only business on main street to withstand the 2014 tornadoes. Along with a place for coffee and socialization, the library also provides Homebound Delivery to patrons in Pilger and Free Wi-Fi.  The library also organizes a summer reading program and other events for patrons of all ages.

Pilger Pride has call ahead pizza or stop in & they can make it while you are fueling up. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner with a daily noon special. Call in orders are welcome. They also have fresh meat and a nice selection of liquor, beer & wines. Their phone number is 402-396-3177.
